The perfect outdoor ceremony with the mountains in the background and a refined, chic with a touch of rustic for their reception space. Their bridal party and family stayed in the on-site lodging and made a full weekend of fun for their closest loved ones.

Amy and Jeff hired Christine for full-planning and they spent 18 months looking for a venue, coordinating vendors, gathering decor, and planning logistics. The Lodge at Mount Ida was a brand new venue, but the moment they saw the plans for the space, it was done. They hoped for a seamless event that felt refined but not stuffy.

It doesn’t get any better than Wood Grain and Lace wedding planning. From no idea what or where we wanted, to pulling off a seamless event, Christine (our point-person/wedding boss lady/owner of WGL) stayed with us through 16 months of meeting, emailing, texting, carpooling and planning, and she even gave birth to the cutest little baby boy in the middle of it all!
I was looking for someone who I could trust about vendors that were both affordable and socially ethical, who would help me to make my vision become a reality instead of pushing monograms and anchors (no offense if that’s your thing - just isn’t mine), and someone we would genuinely enjoying doing all of this with.

Jeffrey, my now husband, was adamant about going with Christine. Not only was she the most cost effective (I don’t have the budgetary gene - he does), but he felt like she was the easiest to talk to about the process from the beginning, AND she responded to our email inquiries the fastest (this is not just to have you hire her... she responds scary fast all the time). We hired her for FULL wedding planning, and she started by doing research on locations 30-90 minutes away that provided on-site accommodations. After narrowing down the list, she visited each location with us for a full day in Charlottesville, asking all of the appropriate questions, until we found TWO venues that had yet to be “revealed” as options to brides (other than her having connections), and we chose an amazing venue that hosted us ALL weekend long!

The vendors she works with are top notch, and she already has a relationship built with them, so they’re excited to work with you cause they already know WGL is the jam and it will be super easy. She also is realistic about budget, and can tell you when you won’t be able to find something cheaper (bus transportation) or who to tip, when, and how much. My wedding party and family raved about her (as she was around for our entire rehearsal process), and was able to friend the crazies in my family to keep them tame while also putting out fires such as my credit card not working for my cake the day of (fluke, but she covered) and the buses attempting to leave early (company’s fault - random but she fixed) and I never knew til after the honeymoon any of these snafus!
